It was an exceptional cultural experience in an authentic Japanese place. The hotel offers rooms in a traditional style, while we also enjoyed wearing national yukata dresses and taking onsen baths, which are included. We have heard a lot about excellent Japanese service and now we indeed experienced it. The personnel approaches each customer with personal touch and satisfies individual needs. A so nice and memorable stay at Tsubakino!

Great value for money. Our room was huge! Easily at least 4x bigger than most Japanese hotel rooms. The ensuite private onsen was a delightful experience, and it took away our aches and pains from the snowy trek to the monkeys. The halfboard meals were fantastic as well. The breakfast spread was buffet restaurant level. We were given a free round trip ride to the Snow Monkey Park and then to train station after checkout, for which we were very much grateful. Great staff, topnotch hospitality. Highly recommended!

Everything!! The room was stunning with its private onsen where we could customize the water temperature while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views. The staff went above and beyond with their exceptional kindness and attentiveness. A special mention goes to the onsen lady! It was a pleasure communicating with her despite language barriers. I never experienced such VIP service otherwise in the world. Whole reception teams demonstrated what extraordinary service should be. I arrived late by bus and was welcomed by one receptionist in bus stop. so I did not need to carry my luggage in the snowing road. They even opened the ski rental shop for me after working hour. The next morning, I missed public shuttle bus and they offered to use hotel shuttle bus to drive me over to ski lift in Yakebitaiyama without reservation in advance. I felt that I was living with a lot of friends instead of living in hotel. I was too tired to try the bar at night, and I would like to try it next time. Swimming pool was good with quite warm water. Hot bathing place with best view. Sun rising over snow mountain top. Breakfast was very good with many variations. The dinner I ordered was pork hotpot, and personally I think the starter tasted better and pork meat is okay. I will try something else next time. All in all, the service and room condition are all top.

Convenient location close to the train station. Our room was spacious and very clean. The staff was very professional and they helped us with shipping our luggage to next destination, which went smoothly. I recommend this hotel in Nagano.

The staff and services are exceptional! Gu san and Sugawara san went the extra mile to help us send our snowboards from hotel to airport and made sure that everything was in perfect order. The team is always responsive online to answer any enquiries so that our stay could be seamless! The room is very spacious and functional with an extended ski locker room attached to the hotel. We love it here :)
